Siobhan McNutt is an artist and illustrator based in the West of Ireland.
Siobhan’s practice focuses on mark making using combined materials such as ink, watercolour, acrylic, graphite, pen and charcoal. Her work employs drawing, painting, collage and printmaking processes to infer and describe the movement of the three states of matter (solid, liquid and gas) as well as some of the formations they take on such as sea, land and rock.
Siobhan’s tactile approach to drawing is rooted in a childhood spent immersed in the McNutt family’s textiles business in Donegal. Having spent many years working in the fashion industry in Paris, Copenhagen and Dublin, the design process remains a source of inspiration in her artwork. Siobhan currently teaches drawing and design at Galway Technical Institute.
